Foodoppi's 'EAT YOUR SCIENCE'

Foodpoppi

Foodoppi’s ‘EAT YOUR SCIENCE will take place in Broadhaven Bay Hotel, Belmullet, on Monday 11th November 2019.

Foodoppi’s Molecular Gastronomy Live Event is one of a kind and cannot be seen anywhere else in the WORLD!   This exciting, fun, fast paced science & food show gives audiences an opportunity to see food become experiments you can eat. We will redesign a traditional fruit salad using the knowledge of hydrocolloids and the world-renowned molecular gastronomy techniques to make fruit spaghetti and yoghurt spheres. We will wow the audience with the magic of liquid nitrogen ice-cream and demonstrate using scientific properties how they can make their own ice cream at home.

Included in each show is a hands-on workshop where students get to engage with real life scientific apparatus and create their own molecular gastronomy edible experiment. To make sure the learning and fun continues there are worksheets provided for the students and teachers to do back at school. Students get an opportunity to reflect on their process of working scientifically and continue to develop their scientific vocabulary while teachers are provided with helpful notes and guidelines.
