The overall winner of the Raft Design Challenge 2017 was Ballyheane National School. On behalf of the Mayo Science and Technology Team, we would like to thank all the teachers, primary schools and young people who participated in the four regions; Belmullet, Ballina, Westport and Claremorris. Congratulations to everyone who took part.

2018 Mayo Science & Technology Festival Brochure - Out Now


Science Week 2018 will run nationwide from November 11th -18th, with numerous events across the country. The aim of Science Week is to promote the relevance of science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) in our everyday lives and to demonstrate their importance to the future of Irish society and to the economy.

There will be 12 regional science festivals all of which will host a range of events from one-day events, family activities, adult talks to school visits and workshops. These festivals will take place in Cavan/Monaghan, Cork, Eureka, Festival of Farming and Food (Teagasc), Galway, WexSci, Limerick, Mayo, the Midlands, Sligo, Southeast, Tipperary.

Another action packed day is promised at this years Mayo Science and Technology festival Open Day, which is to be held on SUNDAY 18TH NOVEMBER - GMIT, CASTLEBAR; 11.30AM - 6.15PM .
